Gift Shop and Visitor Experience Coordinator, New Iceland Heritage Museum
Located along the western shore of Lake Winnipeg in Gimli, Manitoba, the New Iceland Heritage Museum (NIHM) is seeking a dynamic professional to serve as Gift Shop and Visitor Experience Coordinator. Reporting to the Executive Director, Gift Shop and Visitor Experience Coordinator has overall responsibility for the gift shop and volunteer coordination. The nature of the museum operations requires a strong commitment to teamwork and willingness to be flexible in carrying out other operational duties as may be required from time to time.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Oversees all aspects of gift shop operation including inventory control
- Actively participate in the execution of NIHM Annual calendar of events
- Operation of gift shop and facility rentals as two revenue streams
- Customer Service and reception duties
- Assist with the set up of incoming travelling and temporary exhibits
- Volunteer recruitment and co-ordination
- Manage the day to day supervision of summer students
- Assist with the planning and developing programs and events
The ideal candidate will be: highly organized and able to work independently; experienced in managing volunteers. Knowledge of the unique history and culture of New Iceland is considered an asset.
