Frank was truly an avid sportsman. Many happy hours were spent hunting, fishing, golfing, and curling with his friends and family. He was very involved in bringing the first Icelandic horses to Manitoba. At the time of his death he was president of the Canadian Throughbred Horse Society. In honour of his work in that field, the C.T.H.S. sponsors a yearly stakes race at Assiniboia Downs: “The Frank Arnason Stakes”.
Frank died from heart problems on August 17, 1987 at the age of 64. He died suddenly and much too soon. We have all missed him so very much, but he left us with such a zest for life, and a commitment to family and community that we have been able to be what I know he would have wanted us to be.
I am very proud of our family and their heritage. Frank would be too.

They are all graduates of the University of Manitoba. Brett has a degree in Agriculture. Barry graduated with a degree in Arts and Education. Ron obtained a degree in Agriculture and a Masters in Business Administration. Roy graduated from Commerce and went on to qualify as a chartered accountant. Lynne obtained a Bachelor of Laws and Masters of Laws from the London School of Economics. They are all in privately owned businesses in Manitoba and Alberta.
Brett married Marnie Pollock from Neepawa, and they have two children: Dan and Lauren. Barry married Lana Isfeld of Winnipeg Beach. They have three children: Rhett, Russell, and Hayley. Ron married Elaine Hunchak from Winnipeg and they have one daughter Robyn. Roy married Marnie Strachan from Calgary and Winnipeg and they have one son, McRae. Lynne married Campbell Wright from Winnipeg and they have two sons: Kirk and Thomas.
