My parent’s strong community service spirit was passed on to me in a very tangible way and my volunteer life has included serving on the: Johnson Memorial Hospital Board (as Board member and Administrator), Gimli Town Council (Counselor and Deputy Mayor), Gimli Kinsmen (Charter Member, Past President and District Deputy Governor), Masonic Order (Past Member Lisgar Lodge and Charter Member of Viking Lodge # 175), Khartum Temple Shrine Club, Gimli Rotary Club (Past President), Gimli Oldtimer’s Association, Icelandic Festival Committee (Past President, Director and Honorary Life Member), Gimli Senior Echos Choir (Director), Gimli Senior Men’s Chorus
My wife Chrisse was also very much involved as a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid, Kinette Club of Gimli, Gimli Figure Skating and Curling Clubs, and was often volunteering her time in a number of areas. My beloved Chrisse passed away in 1999.
Our pride in our Icelandic heritage is strong and the family continues to be very involved in community service.

Our children are very successful in their endeavors and all have wonderful families of their own. Patricia (b. 1944) and husband Colin have three children: Sherri, Brian, and Michelle. Valdine (b. 1948) and husband Don also have three children, Dianne, Kristin, and Jeffrey. Tim and wife Delphine have two children, Alena and Brady. I am also blessed with 5 great grandchildren.
