Joanne attended Balmoral Hall Girls School, Gordon Bell High School, and the University of Manitoba. She went to Iceland with her grandmother, Guðrún, in 1958 and attended Laugalandskola for one term. Her marriage on May 11, 1961 to William (Bill) Herbert Morris has been blessed with two children: Glen, born Mar. 16, 1962 and Diane, born Sept. 6, 1966. Bill, an Electrical Engineer, was head of design for Winnipeg Hydro. Glen is a librarian at the Centennial Library. Diane is married to Stephen Drawbridge, born on Sept. 24, 1960, a medical technician in nuclear medicine at the Health Sciences Centre. Diane teaches a pre-primary class at Balmoral Hall Girls School, Gordon Bell High School (where her grandmother first taught). They have two daughters, Pamela Christine, born Feb. 6, 1993 and Hilary Erin born Mar. 23, 1996.

Carolyn attended Balmoral Hall Girls School and Business College. Her marriage to Raymond Levesque was also blessed with two children, Grant Edward, born June 1, 1963 and Raymond Joseph born March 1, 1967. Carolyn’s husband Raymond, a pilot, was killed in a plane crash over Biafra when the boys were young. Carolyn worked as a Director with the Provincial Government.

Frank attended Daniel McIntyre School and the University of Manitoba. He obtained his Master’s Degree and took doctoral studies on the Cyclotron. He is Department Head of Mathematics at Vincent Massey Collegiate. During a sabbatical leave in France, Frank met his future wife Helle. Helle Zeidler, born Dec. 19, 1961 is Danish and a nurse by profession, but is presently employed as a Danish Translator for a computer company.

In 1999, Frank and I celebrated 60 years of marriage at a reception held at Betelstadur. We feel blessed to have enjoyed so many happy years together and are looking forward to celebrating the 125th anniversary of the arrival of the Icelanders in Gimli on Oct. 21, 2000.
