In 1991 Gestur and Bertha moved to Pentincton BC to be closer to their daughter Thorunn where Bertha still resides. Gestur passed away in 1997 and his ashes were buried in Husavick Cemetery, Manitoba. Gestur and Bertha had four children, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
